Piney Creek Falls
Van Buren County, Tennessee
About This Waterfall
Piney Creek Falls is a beautiful 40-foot cascade in Fall Creek Falls State Park that flows through a lush, fern-covered gorge of layered sandstone. While often overshadowed by its towering neighbor Fall Creek Falls, Piney Creek Falls has its own distinct charm — a more intimate, grotto-like setting that rewards visitors who seek it out.
The trail follows an easy-to-moderate path through mixed hardwood forest. A cable-assisted descent provides access to the gorge floor near the base. The trail passes through classic Cumberland Plateau terrain with sandstone outcrops and rock shelters.
The falls run year-round and are especially beautiful after rain. This waterfall makes an excellent addition to a tour of the other falls in the park, and trail connections allow visitors to create a loop visiting multiple falls in a single day.
