Station Cove Falls
Oconee County, South Carolina
About This Waterfall
Station Cove Falls is a graceful 60-foot waterfall that fans out over a wide rock wall and drops into a small pool at the bottom, set within the Sumter National Forest in Oconee County. The falls have a delicate, bridal-veil quality as the water spreads across the broad rock face. The surrounding forest of towering hardwoods and wildflower-rich understory adds to the beauty of the setting.
The 0.5-mile trail is flat and easy, following a mix of shaded woods and boardwalks through wetter sections. The gentle terrain makes this suitable for most visitors. The trail passes through rich cove forest with excellent spring wildflower displays including trillium, bloodroot, and hepatica.
Spring is the best season for both water flow and wildflowers. The easy trail and beautiful setting make this a family favorite. The falls are located near other Oconee County waterfalls, making it easy to combine several falls into a day trip.
