Eden Falls
Newton County, Arkansas
About This Waterfall
Eden Falls is a striking 53-foot waterfall located within the Lost Valley Trail area of the Buffalo National River in Boxley Valley. The falls drop from an overhanging bluff into a pool surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and a large bluff shelter. The dramatic setting combines the power of a waterfall with the mystery of a cave — the trail continues past the falls into Eden Falls Cave, adding a spelunking element to the experience.
The Lost Valley Trail is a 2.3-mile round-trip hike through one of the most geologically fascinating areas in the Ozarks. The trail follows a cascading creek past towering cliffs, a natural bridge, and a large bluff shelter before arriving at the falls. A cob waterfall partway through the cave creates an underground waterfall experience.
The falls flow best in winter and spring. The Lost Valley area is also famous for spring wildflowers and elk viewing in the Boxley Valley. The combination of waterfall, cave, natural bridge, and bluff shelter makes this one of the most feature-rich short hikes in Arkansas.
